Title:   Amphora

Description:   Much of foot and body, half of neck and lip, and both handles missing; restored in plaster. Flaring ring foot; ovoid body with maximum diameter just below handles; narrow shoulder, wide vertical neck; rim thick, high, rounded, with a sharp ridge just below it. Vertical handles from shoulder to below lip.
Very micaceous red clay with bits. A few traces of glaze or decoration remain: on the lip, red glaze(?); around the body, just below the handle attachments, five bands, alternating red and dull white; above the foot another red band. Traces also of red around one of the handle attachments.
Perhaps non-Attic?
Context:   Well, containers 16-20, context ca. 490-450 B.C.
