Title:   Black Glaze Kantharos

Description:   About half of body missing. Plain lip; upper part of body high and slightly concave on exterior. At its midpoint is attached a vertical ring handle (mostly missing) which has three grooves on its outer face. At junction of upper wall and of rounded lower body a substantial ridge, set off above by a scraped groove. A ridge also, likewise set off by a scraped groove, at junction of lower body and stem. Moderately tall stem, profiled foot with a scraped groove around its outer face and another on its underside.
Good black glaze.
ADDENDA Related to calyx kantharoi of II F series. Probably had two ring handles. Cf. an example with west slope decoration in the Keramaikos, storage box 2413 (GRE Aug. 1960).
