Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   One handle and fragments of rim and body missing; restored in plaster. Shape as P 16238 (ΕΕ 414), but the lip less rounded, and with two scraped grooves below it. Ivy leaf on handle. West slope decoration as P 16238 (ΕΕ 414), but without the dot rosettes.
ADDENDA P 16238: More or less cylindrical body, narrowing slightly toward top. Profiled ring foot. Plain rim, rounded, a scraped groove below it outside; a second scraped groove at the line of the lower handle attachments. Vertical band handles with plastic masks. West slope decoration on upper part of body, between the two grooves: a wreath between ears of grain, a dot rosette either side of the wreath; pairs of streamers beside the handles.
Context:   Cistern, lower fill.
