Title:   Black Glaze Lekythos

Description:   Most of the base and lower wall preserved, also the mouth and handle, with part of the shoulder, but there is no join between the two groups of fragments. Restored in plaster. A small version of the shape of P 16038 (ΓΓ 720); cf. also P 16454 (ΓΓ 909). Flaring ring foot with broad resting surface. Thin streaky glaze, red to black, all over outside, and inside to base of lip; underside unglazed.
ADDENDA P 16038: Tall neck, flaring only slightly; plain lip; drip ring at base of neck. Broad high shoulder, plump body. Band handle arches up from edge of shoulder and turns down to join neck at base.
