Title:   Black Figure Mesomphalic Phiale

Description:   Intact except for small chip from lip. Outside unglazed except for rim. Rim inside and omphalos glazed; fringe of short strokes around omphalos. On body inside, four grapevines with tendrils and white clusters of grapes; four figures between them: draped figure seated right on diphros, holding a rhyton; reclining figure left with white-striped pillow behind and white garland across chest; then another draped figure right, seated on diphros and holding rhyton as the first; and a reclining figure left, as the second.
No incision used; pinkish-buff Attic clay, the surfaces not polished, the glaze dull but metallic at all outlines.
