Title:   Storage Amphora

Description:   Mended from several pieces; complete except for a few fragments. Body tapers sharply to a small high collar-like foot set around the pointed end of the jar. Neck broad below, narrowing above, to small mouth with plain vertical rim set off by two deep grooves. Broad arched handles from below rim. Wheel ridges light around the body, broader and more marked around neck and foot.
Coarse red clay.
Context:   N-S Trench II; used as packing over elliptical tiled drain.
