Title:   Red Figure Pelike Fragments

Description:   Two non-joining fragments, the largest mended from five. From a closed pot, amphora or pelike.
a) Parts of two standing figures, left; preserved: Athena (crested helmet, scaled aegis) and Hephaistos (wreath, long tunic, cloak folded over shoulders), in a chariot? Hephaistos' right arm extended as if holding the reins. Relief contours.
b) Small piece from the same, with the upper front part of a stephane from which rise four white leaves. A bit of the woman's hair, and of the brow, right, preserved.
Good firm black glaze; unglazed inside.
Context:   House H, room 13, Hellenistic fill.
