Description: | Mended from many pieces; fragments of wall and rim missing. Restored in plaster. Medallion an eight-petalled rosette made up of small grooved leaves. Around the medallion a narrow zone of imbricated leaves from which spring the stems of an elaborate vine motif with tendrils, leaves, and grape clusters, which, repeated four times, covers the wall to the upper border. Upper zone, chevron-like band of small leaves between rows of dots. Above, running reverse spirals. Glaze black above; red to chocolate brown below. For medallion cf. P 20259. | |
