Description: | Fragment from the floor of a very large pot with flat bottom and steep wall. A deep groove around the wall at its lower edge. The floor carefully pierced, before glazing, with at least three rings of neat cylindrical holes. The holes do not go through to the bottom, where the pushed-out clay makes a series of small bumps. Heavy fabric, hard and rather coarse, fired streakily, red and gray. The bottom surface very sandy. Brown streaky glaze wash, inside only. | |
