Title:   Black Glaze Lekanis with Lid
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from many pieces; fragments of wall, rim, handle and lid (including the disk top of the handle) missing. Restored in plaster. Plain rounded bowl on ring foot, the shape similar to the lekanis P 19313 (ΝΝ 4310) from the pyre, but with a thickened rim below the flange and a single uptilted cup handle set well down below the rim. The shallow-domed lid has a plain downturned rim and a high-stemmed knob, this restored on the analogy of P 10287. A light offset around the base of the stem, then four broad concentric ridges, shallow and carefully rounded, reaching to the rim.
Excellent black glaze inside and out.
