| Description: | Most of the lip and a fragment of the bottom missing. Large chips of glaze gone from right side. An animal, which cannot be recognized as any known quadruped, is running right in a frame of roughly circular double lines connected by transverse bars. The animal's chief characteristic is a mane bristling down the middle of its back. A scalloped pattern hangs from the frame in the field above the animal's head. On either side of the main design, spirals. Main outlnes of the drawing are done in blue, with details in green and purplish tan (green and tan dots in the scalloped pattern); a large green circie on the haunch of the animal. Buff clay; unglazed on the bottom and interior except just inside the lip. | |
