Title:   Black Glaze Lekanis Lid Fragment
Category:   Pottery
Description:   About half preserved; broken and repaired along line of ancient mend; two rivet holes preserved, with lead in one. Lid slightly domed, with downturned rim. Large handle, like ring foot, projecting; grooved on the top. The center beneath has a circular depression like a fish plate.
Firm glaze inside and out. Reserved, the edge of the rim and the top of the handle. The groove on the top, and two scraped grooves around base of handle washed with pink.
Notes:   This piece felt to be invasive by excavator.
Context:   Grave area, south cut, east section, fill a. Box 482.
