Description: | Fragment from large lekanis lid. At left, the upper half of a woman facing to right, holding castanettes(?) in both hands. At right is the upper part of a winged figure in low relief, applied, partly broken away. Glaze inside and out slightly metallic. White for the woman's flesh; added clay for her headdress and necklace, and for the wings of Eros. The woman's cloak was painted over in an added color. A fleck of gold remains on the wings. | |
