Title:   Black Figure Lekanis Fragment

Description:   Lidless lekanis. About one-sixth of the rim and side is preserved; the flaring ends of the applied ribbon handle have been broken away. Under the handle, a rosette with incised petals. To the right, an animal right, with long curving tail. At the left, the tip of the tail of another animal. Applied red on the petals of the rosette and on stripes on the animal's haunches, and as a stripe around the inside edge of the rim and on the upper edge of the handle.
Light reddish-buff Attic clay; brownish-black glaze on interior and rim, and on the outside of the handle.
