Title:   Alabastron

Description:   Complete except for part of lip and chips; mended from many fragments. Flat spreading body, wide flat rim, set low, the handles rising slightly above it; bottom slightly concave. Rim and handles glazed, and a glazed band at the top of the shoulder; below this a rounded-crest wave pattern; in the spaces between the handles a spray(?) springing from a wave-crest. On the underside, wheel pattern of early type: broad central ring, three sets of three-stroked curved spokes radiating to single outer circle. Carelessly drawn.
Pink clay; pinkish-buff surface. Brown-black glaze badly worn, fired red in several places.
Context:   Mycenaean chamber tomb at north side of Temple of Ares. Pot #17.
