Title:   Jug: Brittle Ware

Description:   Missing fragments of rim and handle and about half body and base; restored in plaster. Plain flat bottom. Rounded body. Narrow vertical neck. Broadly flaring rim with deep outside edge, inturned at the bottom. Handle with raised edges, rooted in shoulder and rim.
Light gray fabric, hard and brittle, with a metallic clink. The clay contains small dark specks. The exterior is a yellowish-gray, the interior much darker. Surface occasionally lumpy and pitted. The rim is warped.
Context:   Well, boxes 20, 35, 47. Context ca. 460-440 B.C.
