Title:   Black Glaze Plate Fragment

Description:   Single fragment preserving part of rim and a little of floor and bottom. Flat floor; flat bottom, the edge projecting slightly behond the wall. Wall flaring outside, inside curving to plain rim marked off inside and out by a groove.
Very heavy fabric. Black glaze inside and out; a groove at junction of wall and base outside, reddened, and a line of red around the lip outside. Dilute wash on bottom.
Context:   4th. c. hole, south of E.W. late Roman wall.
