Title:   Amphora Fragment

Description:   A single fragment preserves neck, rim, both handles and a little of the shoulder of a small amphora. Neck flares to rounded rim; band handles, attached well below rim. The shoulder glazed plain. On the neck to either side, a panel framed by plain bands; in the panel, a grazing horse, right. Filling ornaments, zigzags and a butterfly. On the handles, close-set bands: horizontals at the center of the handle, verticals above and below. The lip glazed outside; two bands below it.
Buff clay; thin streaky glaze, dull; fired black to red.
Late Geometric.
Context:   Well.
