Title:   Black Figure Stand Fragments

Description:   Five fragments, four joining, one not, from lower part of large stand. Heavy torus at bottom.
A sphinx seated to right; hind leg, a bit of one foreleg and tail of a feline to left. Part of something in white (female foot) at the right edge of the fragment. On non-joining fragment part of an animal with a red patch.
Torus glazed on outside. Resting surface and inside unglazed. Added red on shpinx's wing and hind quarters and for petals of rosette. Red also the ground line of the picture.
Pink clay, buff surfaces.
Context:   Filling of plundered foundation trench of south wall of Square Building, Stoa Pier 10; i.e. as SS 11483 (ΣΑ 1710).
