Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragment

Description:   Three joining fragments preserve the neck, both handles, much of one panel and the top of that on the other side. Amphora shape B.
A) Siren, right.
B) Lion, right.
Diagonal zigzags on upper face of rim. Added red for a band at upper and lower edge of outer face of rim; a pair of bands also around the neck above the handle attachments; a red line borders the panels. Red for the Siren's face, neck and upper part of wings, and red on the lion's mane. Careful incision.
Firm rather dull black glaze, somewhat worn. Glazed inside to just below the lip.
Context:   Well.
