Description:   Neck fragment, mended from four pieces. Small part of rim and handle attachment preserved. Rim rounded, thick and flaring. Wall much thickened on underside of handle attachment. Rim glazed; below rim two narrower bands, the lower of which is met by three vertical bands at each side of the handle panel. Above handle, double St. Andrew's cross with a dot in each field; glazed below handle attachment. Panel on right has pointed double spirals at top; below, rear end of horse and part of mane; pointed tail and elongated rump; lozenge ornament underneath.
Pinkish-buff clay; black glaze, somewhat worn.
Context:   Well.
