Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora

Description:   Intact, except tiny chips from rim and foot; cracked. Reserved: rim above, inside of handles, "ring" at the join of foot, lower part of the profile of the foot and the underside of it. Glazed: inside of mouth and neck, outside of handles, upper surface and most of profile of foot. On neck, double palmette and lotus flower ornament. Degenerate tongues on shoulder. Palmette and lotus flower handle ornament.
A) Two warriors fighting over a third fallen on the ground. Corinthian helmets, metal corselets, decorated chitons, swords, spears, shields. Shield devices: circles, anchor, a third unidentifiable.
B) Chariot to right seen in three-quarter view; a woman in it, wearing chiton, himation and fillet, holds the reins and goad.
White is used on side A) for blobs on crests of helmets, baldrics on a spot on the sword of the warrior at the right; devices of two shields, for the third shield, for dots on chitons; on side B) for woman's nude parts, for dots on her garments, for her fillet, for some of horses' legs, for stripes on manes and faces of horses, for their decorated collars.
