Description: | Several joining fragments preserve about one-quarter of plate; profile complete. Sizable rim fragment does not join. Broad flat plate, the floor curving up to meet the vertical rim, profiled inside and out. Lip projects slightly. On the floor a single line of rouletting and two wheel-run grooves. At the center a quatrefoil stamp: <graphic> Pale buff clay; firm light red glaze. Cf. P 9855 and Iliffe I (1936), p. 37. | |
