Title:   Black Glaze Skyphos

Description:   Handles missing; about a quarter of the rim and much of the wall and foot restored in plaster. Mended from many pieces. Spreading ring foot; S-shaped sides with slightly flaring rim. On one side, the start of a handle. Immediately above the foot, a zone of rays. A little above the middle of the sides, a band of chevrons. Horizontal bands: one at outer edge of lip, two above and below the chevron, two above and one below the rays. On the underside of the foot, inside the foot ring, two concentric circles. Red for the horizontal bands and the concentric circles and for five pairs of concentric circles on the interior. Resting surface and underside of foot reserved.
