Title:   Black Glaze Skyphos Fragment: Type C

Description:   Base ring and profile complete, but only a little of the wall, with the stump of one handle. Cup skyphos, the general effect similar to P 24584 (ΣΑ 2794), but the details different, and bowl deeper in proportion to its diameter. Vertical inset rim with heavy rolled lip. Base ring has a marked projection below the wall, a nearly vertical outer face, and a deep bevelled inner face (recalling the feet of the deep skyphoi of the Theseus painter and the like). Two scratched grooves at junction of foot and wall.
Reserved: the outer face of the foot, the resting surface and the space inside, with two circles and dot.
