Description: | "Fikellura" Amphora. Mended from several pieces. Foot and most of lower half preserved. Ring foot slightly flaring. Wide zone of scrolls with palmettes; below, narrow band of blobs, then a zone of crescents leftwards, then rays around base. On foot, a narrow band of blobs. Mauve-brown clay with grits. The dull glaze of the decoration has faded and the white slip largely flaked. Cf. BSA 34 (1933-1934), pp. 30-33: volute zone group. | |
