Title:   Hydria with Glaze Decoration

Description:   Shoulder and walls fragmentary; handles not preserved; profile complete. Restored in plaster. The stumps of one side-handle remain but no evidence for vertical handle; may be a side-handled amphora. Substantial flaring ring foot; flat-topped rim.
Two pairs of broad glazed bands on body, one on shoulder and one on lower wall; between these, large curving brush strokes of glaze and small irregular pendents. Remains of glaze bands on rim, at base of neck and on foot.
Pinkish-buff clay. Glaze much worn.
Rather coarsely made with a perceptible join between upper and lower walls.
Context:   Well in Stoa Shop III, lower fill. Context ca. 520-480 B.C. (R 12:4-POU)
