Title:   Black Glaze Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   Mended from many fragments. Parts of side walls and of one handle missing. Concave upper walls, rounded lower body; molded ring base. Scraped grooves at widest point and on base. Wide strap handles, spurred with ivy leaves. Decorated with dot rosettes, ears of wheat and ribbon ornaments.
Black glaze fired red in part and considerably peeled. On one side the added clay paint of the decoration has disappeared leaving the pattern black.
