Title:   Moldmade Bowl Fragment
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Almost full profile preserved; mended from seven pieces; about one-third preserved. Partially restored with plaster.
Large medallion: rosette surrounded by a row of small veined leaves; from this springs a single row of small pointed leaves.
Middle zone: tall spikey fronds alternating with leafy stalks which split to form an arc, from the ends of which hang bunches of grapes; in field, rampant goats, birds in flight, tragic masks, long-bearded and otherwise.
Rim pattern: simplified guilloche, offset by rows of dots, and a row of double spirals, topped by small trefoil leaves.
Scraped groove around medallion.
Orange clay. Dull brown glaze.

Context:   Cistern, various boxes.
