Description: | Mended from two pieces; broken all around. Fragment from neck of a large krater. Almost horizontal shoulder joins vertical neck; lower half recessed and decorated in black figure technique with palmettes lying right. Upper half of neck: band of red figure decoration; at left, a nude youth kneeling on left knee, legs in profile, back shown straight on; he holds a club or staff in the crook of his right arm; behind him a kneeling figure. Bright orange clay. Black glaze outside and inside neck. Probably from same krater as P 25978. | |
