Title:   Neck Amphora

Description:   Clay very friable and peeled away. Sections of body, part of rim missing. Restored in plaster. Flat bottom. High shoulder, strap handles from shoulder to neck. Thin neck with flaring mouth. At shoulder there is a broad red band with two narrow bands on either side. Above this, on horizontal part of shoulder, an S lying on its side. A band around base of neck, neck and mouth glazed above handle attachments. Glaze on edges at handles, with wavy line down center of handle. Inside of mouth glazed with two thick bands.
Submycenaean.
Red to brown glaze. Yellow-orange clay.
Context:   Burial.
