Title:   Black Glaze Cup Skyphos: Stamped

Description:   One handle and large chips from wall missing. Mended and restored in plaster. Moulded ring foot, rim offset inside turns out slightly; groove above junction of wall and foot. Reserved: underside with glazed band, four glazed circles, and dot. Scraped band above foot. Decoration within: a circle of ovules enclosed, around six linked palmettes around an incised circle.
Good black glaze. Red clay.

Handling:   From the general form: It must be made sure that whenever handling the objects they are fully supported from all sides; the absence of restoration makes them more prone to breakage if handled carelessly.
