Description: | Mended; parts of body, most of rim, handle missing. Deep open bowl, with vertical sides curving inward at bottom to ring foot; out-turned rim, flat on top, grooved along exterior edge. Base of loop handle preserved on wall slightly above mid-point of height. Broad reserved band runs around exterior of body at level of handles. Band decorated with series of branches decorated with heart-shaped leaves and groups of berries. Above and below band a thin glazed line, then broad glazed band. Below lower band, a second reserved band decorated with wave-like motif above horizontal glazed line. Exterior otherwise completely glazed except for reserved bands on top of rim, resting surface of base and underside. Underside decorated with central glazed dot surrounded by two glazed concentric circles, one on underside and one on inner face of foot. Black glaze much worn. Red fabric. | |
