Title:   Plate with Rouletting: Stamped

Description:   Late Roman C plate, fragmentary but there can be no doubt about the profile; restored in plaster. Vertical, slightly concave rim with rouletting on the outside. Low base ring; floor rises toward middle. On floor inside two bands of rouletting with a row of loops between encircling a medallion consisting of a Greek cross with circles between the arms. Thin red wash on inside, and most of outside.
Porous red clay.
