Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   Profile complete. Base and half of body to rim preserved. Mended from many fragments. Low molded base. Maximum diameter of body below mid-point. Two grooves on exterior below plain rounded rim. Vertical strap handle with horizontal spur on top, projecting beyond handle. Projecting knob on lower part of handle. Scraped grooves: one on moulded base, two above mid-point of body, two below rim. Two bands of paint on upper body with stylized floral decoration running above. Stylized plant on spur above handle.
Dull black glaze worn away in places.
Context:   Brown fill west of N.-S. Road. 2nd.- and 1st.-century context
