Title:   Skyphos Fragment

Description:   One handle and part of wall and rim. Nearly vertical wall curving in toward bottom. Inwardly bevelled rim. Strap handle bound with strip of clay at arch. Thin scraped groove at level of handle attachment and below rim. Traces of decoration: three painted dots and incised line on one side of handle; incised line on either side of handle.
Fairly hard, extremely micaceous clay (light reddish-brown 5YR 6/4); somewhat shiny, gritty red glaze (2.5YR 5/8), also extremely micaceous.
Imitation of Pergamene Sigillata?
