Title:   Black Glaze Skyphos: Attic Type
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from many pieces; about one half, including full profile, preserved. Plain disk foot, high convex walls, single vertical strap handle attached to rim at top. Traces of a second handle implied by crescent break at rim opposite? Vertical or horizontal? Reserved: all of base. Rest covered in a poor streaky black glaze. Many of the pieces gray in color, from fire after breaking?
No real parallel in Agora XII, but similar, except for foot, to no. 360.
ADDENDA Pattern of streaky glaze indicates that the second handle had to be horizontal. Added red, double line on interior of rim; double line at handle attachment on exterior. (KM 2/99)
