Title:   Lekanis Lid

Description:   Complete except for chips, mended from nine fragments. Broad, flat handle/knob, slightly concave on sides, with conical depression in center. Convex top. Reserved: resting surface, a zone near the stem decorated with thin glazed lines, the edge, part of underside, and top of the knob, the latter with a glazed circle. Added red: two lines at juncture of reserved zone, two lines at midpoint of glazed part of top, possibly where top turns down toward edge. Slight out-turn at rim.
Black glaze, fired reddish in places, particularly within. Attic clay.
Virtually the same as Agora XII, no. 1229, 520-500 B.C.
Context:   Well.
