Title:   Mug Fragments: Phocean

Description:   Part mended into two large pieces from opposite sides.
a) One-third of rim and section of body almost to base.
b) Handle and part of body.
Base lost. Low-bellied, with steep offset rim; thin handle, sliced down one side, from underside of rim to above belly. Slight "step" inside rim. No ribbing; faint belly-angle.
Thin-walled orange ware, fired gray on outer surface, with some orange patches. Slight burning on a). Fine wheel-ribbing on inside.
A rather large example of the normal Phocean 2nd century A.D. type.
