Title:   Brazier with Plastic Lugs: Satyr Head

Description:   Much of fire bowl and base remain but they do not join. Restored in plaster. The fire bowl is deep, the bottom pierced by one central and three lateral holes; broad, down-curving rim set slightly below the lip. From the rim rise three rectangular lugs, inner faces decorated with satyr masks in relief; the out-thrust beards supported the cooking vessel. The stand consists of a hollow column swelling toward the bottom and surrounded at the base by a broad channel. One of the handles remains, an upturned loop set on the column close below the fire bowl. The column is pierced on one side toward the bottom by a large air hole. Red clay, containing much grit. Unglazed, blackened by fire on inside of bowl.
