Title:   Plate Fragments with Rouletting

Description:   Three loose rim sherds.
Shallow sloping floor, heavy knobbed rim with flat sloping inner/top face= Hayes, LRP, form 105. Two lines of neat rouletting on underside (under edge of floor). Slight groove/bulge around outside of rim.
Slightly gritty red clay; polished red slip on upper surface, thin wash on underside (below rim-band).
A late (?) variant of the type, the rouletting here is abnormal.
African Red Slip Ware.

Context:   Late Roman Building, destruction fill on floor and to north.
