Description: | From the wall of a large closed vase, unglazed inside. At the left, a left hand holding a shield; at the right, the hair and upper body of a youth wearing a bordered garment. Inversion for the borders of the shield; the outer red border outlined by compass-drawn circles and by relief contours. Relief contours also for the youth's shoulder and the hand. The hair painted in heavy black brush strokes; also the garment border and the decoration inside the shield. All the details, drapery, etc., drawn with thick relief lines. Red wash. The glaze dull. | |
