Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora Fragment

Description:   Fragment from the neck of an amphora. Part of an animal frieze is preserved; at right, a lion moving right, his head and lower legs missing; behind him an outstretched wing, with a rosette above. Above these, two narrow glazed bands at the bottom of another frieze, which preserves traces of an animal (lion?) moving left.
Purple on the inner part of the wing, and one streak on the hind quarters of the lion. Incision for the feathers and some of the anatomical details of the lion. Fine, slightly micaceous clay, pinkish, buff at the surface.
