Title:   Red Figure Lebes Gamikos Stand Fragments

Description:   One non-joining fragment. Around the wall a zone of three figures: Athena with spear, to left, pouring a libation not quite into a phiale held by a bearded male figure with septre in hand. Behind Athena, another bearded male figure to left, with right arm outstretched. The zone bordered above by a band of solid rosettes in black figure. Note small hole made by potter in this band above the head of the scepterd male. The drapery of the non-joining fragment appears to belong to the second male. Relief lines used indiscriminately. Purple for male headbands and for wine. Brown for fold lines.
Context:   Trial pit behind retaining wall of stoa, layer I. Found with P 4841-P 4874, A 973-A 1011.
