Description: | Late Roman C fragments. a) Mended from two pieces; about half of the bottom of the plate preserved. Low ring base. Center of plate decorated with shallow concentric grooves; within these, two small animals with long ears, leaping. Forepart of one of them broken away. Fine light red clay with hard red wash. b) Another fragment from very similar plate, with bit of ring base, and hind legs of same kind of animal, slightly larger than in a). Similar clay and glaze. | |
