Title:   Situla Fragment with Plastic Attachment: Head

Description:   A large fragment from the rim is reserved, with enough of the side to show the beginning of a sharp outward bulge. Vertical handle on rim, ribbed. A loop about the right base of the handle, where it joins the rim, apparently represents a bird's head with protruding eye, and incised line on face and bill. Below the handle, the upper part of a head, with the break just below the left eye, is preserved. It is attached to the outer edge of the rim. It wears a crown of ivy leaves with two bunches of berries in the cente.
Red clay with yellowish slip.
