Title:   Amphora with Lid

Description:   The body mended from several pieces, complete; the lid intact.
a) Amphora with long ovoid body on ring foot, high concave neck flaring into rounded lip; two vertical strap handles, shoulder to middle of neck. Whole body covered with alternating glazed and reserved bands. Decoration on reserved bands, part way up body, dots; above, vertical zigzags; point of greatest circumference, horizontal zigzag; shoulder, vertical zigzags; base of neck, dots; center of neck, lozenges with horizontal zigzag below, vertical above. Horizontal zigzag outside.
b) Lid, concave circular lid with spike handle; on edge seven series of short parallel strokes; inside, and on handles, concentric narrow glaze bands.
Buff clay with buff slip; dull black glaze, much peeled.
