Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   Similar in shape to P 6297 ff., but larger. Broken and mended in antiquity with several lead clamps. The groove below the handle zone unincised. In handle zone front and back, between horizontal thin clay paint bands, ivy tendrils, the stems and berries in white, the leaves in thin clay paint.
Much pitted black glaze.
Restored in plaster.
ADDENDA P 6297: Moulded ring foot, flaring. High narrow convex-concave body. Two vertical strap handles with leaf thumb-rests.
Context:   Cistern. Lower, Hellenistic fill.
