Title:   Red Figure Pyxis Lid with Dipinto

Description:   Small bulging flange, the lower edge reserved, the upper edge scraped, forming a slightly raised border around the lid.
Head and long neck of lion facing. In field right, thyrsos; left, concentric circles. Relief lines; neck stippled; remains of thin glaze wash on ears and neck.
On the inside of the lid, over a thin brownish glaze, a letter Σ (<graphic>) painted in black.
Attic clay. Rather dull black glaze, grayed and somewhat chipped.
Context:   Well.
