Description:   Edge preserved, with tooth pattern between bands. Above, zone of waterbirds feeding; one bird and parts of two others preserved, heads in outline, bodies fired red. At inner edge of fragment, a reddish-black stripe.
Pink clay, buff at surface. Inside unglazed. Traces of burning.
For pecking birds cf. P 1764. The New York Nessos Amphora and Stackelberg (1837), Graeber der Hellenen, pl. IX:1 on a Phaleron jug; an unknown motif in Corinth [Payne (1931), Necrocorinthia, p. 76, note]. From an amphora? Orientalizing style.
